Local Attractions:

Outdoor Pursuits:
  • Nevis Range (8 miles away from Glencaig cottage) boasts a mountain gondola up Aonach Mhor mountain, a wide variety of mountain biking tracks and also a high wire course. In winter, it is a popular snow sport centre.
  • Glencoe mountain resort offers mountain biking, "tubing", a chairlift and snow sports in winter
  • ​Fort William is the start point of the Great Glen Way and the end point of the West Highland Way long distance walking routes

Groceries:
Both Asda and Tesco will deliver groceries to Glencaig Cottage. In Spean Bridge (2 miles away) there is a SPAR mini supermarket. In Fort William there are Morrisons, Marks and Spencer, Aldi and Lidl supermarkets as well as smaller Co-op and Tesco supermarkets.

Post Offices, ATMs and Banks:
The nearest Post Office is located in the SPAR in Spean Bridge. There are further nearby post offices located in WHSmith on Fort William high street, inside the McColl's mini supermarket in Caol Shopping Centre and in the Co-op supermarket in Corpach.

The nearest ATM is in Spean Bridge outside the SPAR. There are several free ATMs in Fort William (outside Morrisons and on the high street). Domestic visitors can withdraw cash for free from Post Offices.

There are several banks on Fort William high street. 

Miscellaneous:
Fort William has a tourist information office, library and leisure centre with gym and swimming pool

There are several cafes and restaurants in and around both Spean Bridge and Fort William.
